Welcome.

Thank you for visiting the Trauma, Race, Identity and Development (TRIAD) Lab website. Our research explores and examines the pathways to healing from psychological trauma for Black and/or African American youth and emerging adults at the intersection of three important constructs (race, identity and development) . We call it the TRIAD.

Our research and community engagement is based on the foundational principle that the true generation of knowledge needed to effect sustainable change is facilitated by synergistic efforts and collective expertise of academic researchers, school- and community-based practitioners, and the youth/young adults and their families involved in our research and service efforts.
